What is the G4FD engine?

The G4FD is Hyundai-Kia's 1.6-litre Gamma GDI engine: a naturally aspirated inline-four with gasoline direct injection, a timing chain and an aluminium block and head.

NANXI POWER supplies it as a brand-new long block — the core engine you install with your existing intake, fuel and electrical parts.

Common questions

Which vehicles use the G4FD engine?

The G4FD 1.6L GDI is used in the Hyundai Elantra, i30 and ix35 and the Kia K3 and Sportage, produced from 2009 to 2018. Send your VIN and we will check the exact version for your vehicle.

What is the difference between G4FD and G4FC?

Both are 1.6L Gamma engines. The G4FD uses gasoline direct injection (GDI) and makes more power, while the G4FC uses multi-point port injection. The fuel-system parts are not interchangeable, so check the engine code stamped on your block.

Can a G4FD replace a G4FC or G4FG?

Not as a direct swap. The G4FC and G4FG use port injection, while the G4FD uses direct injection with a high-pressure fuel pump and different engine management. Order the engine code stamped on your original block.

What should I check before the first start?

Is this G4FD a complete engine or a long block?

It is a long block: the assembled cylinder block and cylinder head with the crankshaft, pistons, camshafts and timing chain. Intake, fuel-system and electrical parts can be added to your quotation.

What warranty comes with the G4FD long block?

12 months. Coverage and conditions are written into your order.

Do I need to replace the timing chain when installing?

No. The long block is supplied with its timing chain and timing cover already fitted. Fit new gaskets and check the cooling and fuel connections when you install it.

Can I order one engine, and how long does delivery take?

Yes, the minimum order is one unit. Orders usually ship within 7 to 30 days depending on quantity.

Which trade terms do you offer?

EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP. Tell us your destination port or address and we will quote the terms that suit your order.
